Premio Partners with Allxon to Offer Seamless Out-of-Band Management for Uninterrupted Industrial Edge Computing

Dedicated RJ45 Port for Out-of-Band Remote Access for Flexible Always-On Remote Management at the Edge

Greater Los Angeles, CALIFORNIA, July 29, 2025 The rapid rise of distributed edge deployments in smart manufacturing, transportation, retail, and smart city infrastructure is transforming how enterprises manage mission-critical devices. Yet with this transformation comes a pressing challenge: how to securely maintain and recover edge systems in remote or unmanned locations when the primary network or operating system goes offline.

Premio is addressing this challenge head-on with the release of its Out-of-Band (OOB) Management solutions, designed to provide secure, always-on remote access to edge devices—even during system or network failures.

“Premio’s Out-of-Band (OOB) management hardware solution is a critical enabler for remote management of industrial edge computers, offering secure, always-on access—even when the operating system is unresponsive or the primary network is down,” said Dustin Seetoo, VP of Product Marketing at Premio. “Through our partnership with Allxon, a leading out-of-band management solution, select Premio computing solutions can now utilize Allxon’s centralized dashboard to streamline secure remote access, empower users to reboot unresponsive systems, recover from OS failures, and perform critical diagnostics independently of the main network.”

As industries accelerate their digital transformation and adopt AI-driven edge computing, edge devices are being deployed in increasingly remote and harsh environments. Traditional in-band management solutions that rely on the operating system and main network, often fall short when systems freeze or networks fail. This can lead to costly downtime, delayed service restoration, and the need for expensive on-site visits.

Premio’s OOB Hardware Solution: Secure Control Beyond the OS

Premio delivers Out-of-Band (OOB) management as a hardware solution featuring a dedicated 1x RJ45 LAN port for secure, hardware-level remote access. For added flexibility, it is also offered through an optional EDGEBoost I/O expansion.

Through a strategic partnership with Allxon, IT teams can remotely manage devices via the Allxon Portal, a secure and centralized device management platform. This integration allows operators to perform critical actions such as power cycling, BIOS/UEFI access, and hardware health monitoring from anywhere—providing faster recovery and minimizing costly on-site service visits.

By offering a secure, hardware-level management channel independent of the primary network and operating system, Premio’s OOB solutions ensure uninterrupted device access in mission-critical environments.

Premio’s OOB-supported products span both x86-based and NVIDIA Jetson-based platforms, including the:

  1. RCO-3000-RPL Series: Super-Rugged Small Form Factor Computer
  2. RCO-6000-RPL Series: AI Edge Inference Computer
