I'm pleased to welcome frequent guest and the orchestrator of this content journey, Premio's own Dustin Seetoo, Director of Product Marketing.
Hello everyone! Welcome to another episode of the Rugged Edge Survival Guide, a Premio podcast. I'm your host Daniel Litwin, the Voice of B2B. And it's been a hot minute since our last episode! It's great to be back in front of the mic with the Premio team, covering some of the most important updates, from tech to transformational trends, shaping the world of edge computing.
I'm excited for today's conversation, because we're beginning an important content journey down the Road to ISC West 2023 in Las Vegas, the premier international show for all things security and public safety. ISC West acts as a key hub for the security industry, allowing innovators across the digital and physical security world to connect and share updates to the latest technologies in access controls, alarms & monitoring, digital surveillance, robotics, cybersecurity and connected IoT; of course, Premio's got to make an appearance! But there's another deeper reason Premio is eyeing ISC West this year: the security landscape is in the midst of a massive transformation. Both physical and digital security systems are advancing their data visibility, their decentralized networks, their actual monitoring technology, and are requiring more powerful network and compute infrastructure to support their systems. Increased and more robust edge compute needs are where Premio's expertise and product suite comes into focus, and where we hope to offer some important analysis of where edge computing can support the next era of public safety technologies and ecosystems.
This episode is just the first part of a larger content series we'll be releasing over the course of the next several weeks as Premio heads to ISC West 2023. This first episode will give you an overview of security and surveillance trends in the Industry 4.0 age to lay the groundwork for what's shaping the industry's compute needs today, how Premio is tackling those needs with its approach to rugged edge computing solutions and strategies, and will offer a teaser for what to expect from Premio at ISC West. Let's dive in!
Innovative Technologies for Rugged NVR Edge Surveillance
Artificial intelligence has pushed the limits in smarter surveillance. Facial recognition, license plate identification, and automobile detection technologies all generate vast amounts of data that require high-performance processing. In this setting, cloud computing is unreliable due to the introduction of unpredictable latency and connectivity, cybersecurity threats, and inefficient data flow costs. AI edge inferencing streamlines these workloads in real-time succession for time-sensitive actionable insights all within offline confinements. There are four transformative technologies that enable rugged NVR surveillance:
Ubiquitous Computing
Allows for remote manageability & live data telemetry
Cloud-to-Edge Infrastructure
Cost-efficient system for mission-critical insights to be sent to the Cloud while majority of data remains processed at the edge
5G Connectivity
Ultra-low latency, broadened bandwidth, & machine-to-machine communications
Edge AI
Enables Industry 4.0 applications & real-time inferencing
Latest Rugged NVR Computer: RCO-6000-CML-4NH-1E
Introducing Premio’s latest flagship Rugged NVR Computer, RCO-6000-CML-4NH-1E! The successor of SIA ISC West 2021’s award-winning RCO-6000-CFL. By following a split-architecture design, EDGEBoost Nodes can be integrated onto the RCO-6000-CML for a more surveillance-focused deployment. The 4NH-1E consists of an EDGEBoost U.2 NVMe canister and a PCIe x16 expansion for hardware RAID and even a high-speed network card with data bandwidth speeds up to 200Gbps. Small Form Factor Computer: RCO-3000-CML *Coming Soon*
Small in size, yet packed with even greater performance. Typically, small form factor (SFF) computers are limited to SoC processors due to thermal conflicts. However, the RCO-3000-CML delivers a socket-type design within an SFF enabling more resource-intensive applications to be deployed in spatially limiting environments.
- Socket-type design in SFF
- 10th Gen Intel Core/XEON Processor (Up to 10 cores)
- DDR4 RAM (Max. 64GB)
- 1x EDGEBoost I/O
- 1x Hot-swappable SSD Bay
- High-speed I/O On-board
EDGEBoost I/O for Edge AI & NVMe
As IoT becomes smarter and sophisticated, so does the amount of data needed to be processed. Premio’s implementation of EDGEBoost I/O allows for flexible configurations for specialized deployments. The EDGEBoost I/O for Edge AI and NVMe deliver high-speed data storage transfer rates and real-time AI inferencing at the source of data generation.
