Factory automation becomes more demanding when the Panel PC itself is exposed to water, sanitation processes, or hygienic production requirements.
This is where front-panel protection versus full-system protection becomes a critical selection factor.
Premio's SIO Series uses a SUS316 stainless-steel enclosure with full-system IP66/IP69K protection. The product brief also specifies locking M12 I/O connectors, an automatic pressure valve, optical bonding, and a fanless design.

Consider SIO when:
- The complete HMI may be exposed to washdown

Which Specification Should Drive Your Decision First?
CPU performance still matters, but it usually should not be the first filter.

1. How will the HMI be physically integrated?
If it needs to be built directly into an OEM machine, start with HIO.

2. Does the display need to be modular?

3. What part of the system is exposed?
