高效邊緣處理 

持續的數據採集需要一個能夠運行應用程式並管理通訊任務而不會消耗過多功率的處理器。傳統的桌面級系統會帶來不必要的尺寸、熱量和能源需求。該專案需要一個緊湊的嵌入式平台,該平台專為持續工業操作而設計,具有平衡的處理效能。 

本地記憶體和儲存 

電腦需要足夠的記憶體來支援作業系統、數據採集軟體和主動通訊服務。還需要本地儲存空間用於應用程式檔案、系統日誌和暫時保留的機器數據。因此,所選配置需要提供可靠的固態儲存和足夠的記憶體,以實現響應迅速的日常操作。 

機器和網路連接 

The application needed to communicate directly with industrial equipment through an RS 485 serial connection. A separate Ethernet connection was required to transfer collected information to the customer’s network, while additional network ports would provide flexibility for future devices or segmented communications. Limited connectivity would have required external adapters or additional networking hardware inside the cabinet. 

Space Constrained Installation 

The computer was intended for installation near existing control and data acquisition equipment. Available cabinet space was limited, making traditional embedded systems difficult to integrate cleanly. A small DIN rail mounted design was needed to simplify installation without requiring major cabinet modifications. 

Industrial Safety Certification 

The system would become part of an industrial equipment deployment, making recognized safety certification an important purchasing consideration. Using uncertified computing hardware could complicate customer approval and overall system compliance. UL Listed hardware would help the provider integrate the computer with greater confidence. 


The Solution 

Premio’s DIN Rail Fanless Embedded Computer (DCO-1000-ASL) 

The DCO-1000-ASL was selected as the computing foundation for the data collection system. Its compact fanless enclosure allows it to operate alongside industrial controllers and communication equipment without requiring active cooling. The system serves as the local connection point between the machine, the data collection application, and the customer’s network. 

Intel Atom Processing 

An Intel Atom x7433RE quad core processor provides an efficient balance of computing performance and low power operation. With a 9 watt thermal design power, the processor is suited for gateway, communication, and basic edge computing workloads where heat and energy use must remain controlled. 

DDR5 Memory and Solid-State Storage 

The deployed system includes 16GB of DDR5 memory and 128GB NVMe SSDDDR5 memory supports responsive application performance, while the solid-state drive provides local capacity for Windows, data collection software, system records, and temporary data retention. The platform supports M.2 NVMe storage for compact and dependable system integration. 

Flexible Serial and Ethernet Connectivity

Two configurable RS 232, RS 422, and RS 485 serial ports allow the computer to communicate with industrial machines and control devices. Four 2.5GbE LAN ports provide dedicated high-speed connections for equipment networks, customer infrastructure, and future system expansion. The available interfaces reduce reliance on external converters and separate network devices.  

Compact Certified Design 

Measuring approximately 150 by 105 by 50 millimeters, the system can be secured directly to a DIN rail within a space constrained enclosure. Its fanless construction minimizes moving components, while the 9 to 36VDC power input supports common industrial power environments. UL 61010-2-201 Ed.2, FCC, and CE certifications provide additional assurance for integration into industrial control applications.
